Comments: Attack of the Weblice

Having already admitted to larcenous intentions, Jacob has backed down pretty quickly. Always wise 'tae think agen.'

"Pretty emotional?" I must agree with you on that score, Joël.

And as to the fact that WCAC does not deserve you and JMB -- well, Jacob, we've found something, at least, on which we can agree. I don't think WCAC deserves that, either. ;)

And with that I close this series of comments. Thanks to those of you who posted words of sanity, sweet reason, and support. That will not be forgotten, be assured.

Well, it's get complicated to follow:
I will give you your dog back...the dog finally stay here....I will give you back with is brother if you come here and go with them ???

It looks pretty emotionnal...and I don't know the big part of the story.

But what are the real facts?

Jacob, is it your dog or Jeffrey's dog?
If it is Jeffrey's dog,legally,you have to give it back to him,and not considering your own conditions but HIS conditions.If no prealable arangment have been made as for transportation,you don't have legally to pay the transport, so, if Jeffrey says he wants the dog back and will pay the transport fee( I don't even know if this is what he would want), then, you have to send him.
If not, then yes, you are a dog stealer.Point.

Ed, you and all those who continue to merely dabble in and poke at this little dog world from behind the safety of your computer screens screaming hysterically in well orchestrated indignation, all the while not having the gumption to do ONE actual bit of real effort of the non-cyber kind – WAKE UP AND SMELL THE DOG-SHIT. Honesty? Fairness?? Those noble concepts left this building permanently; in the summer of 2008, the biggest criminals are still at large. And those concepts will remain permanently absent until such time as honour is properly restored and bestowed, in public and on a permanent basis, to those on whose half-broken backs this population was built, over the last 15 years.

But, Jacob a dog-thief?? Nah, not me, we all know that is utter nonsense. SK can have their dog back. But I’m done spending any money on this effort. Ulan came to me with his brother, and so he will leave with his brother. They will not be separated, ‘over my dead body’. And only the original owner will be allowed to come and fetch them, in person and look me straight in the eye when they are taken. Like I did with each and every single dog I got from SK. This will not be delegated, or discussed on the internet any further. At least not from my end. What you do in your little ‘kitchens’ and so called ‘forums’ is your business. And I won’t bother you anymore on the WCAC, that organization does not deserve me, or for that matter any of the others that left before I did. Peace to all, indeed.

"Be fair. Be honest." But Jacob has just demonstrated that he cannot be either of those things, and moreover has publicly declared himself to be a dog thief and proud of it. Sick...

> your 'collection' of non-working working dogs

Jacob, you know why dogs aren't being run at Seppala Kennels this season. There are six big jobs to do, all at the same time:

(1) Creating an environment where the dogs can thrive;
(2) Tending to their daily care;
(3) Planning their genetic future;
(4) Carrying out the breeding honestly and professionally;
(5) Finding and educating more people; and
(6) Working the dogs.

Just items (1) through (4) are truly more than two people can do, so item (5) is necessary just to maintain the present situation, never mind to expand the breed. Item (6) is needed, but losing a season doesn't affect the survival of the animals or the breed.

Surely Jeffrey would rather be out with a team than building dog houses. Or driving to get food and then preparing it every day. Or spending hours calculating inbreeding for dozens of trial matings. Or hand-feeding puppies. Or being verbally abused.

Be fair, Jacob. Be honest. A different two people couldn't do what the Braggs are doing, so give them credit for what they're accomplishing rather than criticizing their inability to get out on the trails because they aren't getting the help they need.

epilogue straight from Ulan's mouth tonight: "sorry 'Sus', no can do - I ain't going back to spending all of the rest of my days at the end of a chain never again feeling a harness, never again experiencing the joy of the hookup, just so I can add to your 'collection' of non-working working dogs. If you want my 'genes' you can have it frozen & shipped in a bottle. Good luck with your newly appointed Board, you've now succesfully alienated & discarded pretty much every aspirant or serious recreational musher that has ever entered this so called living room - feel free to use this action as a definitive reason to fire Jacob's ass from this useless organization as your first order of business, we all know that's the only outcome that will ultimately satisfy & fit into your master plan"

Posted by jacob at March 3, 2009 07:44 PM

Susan - I will notify Jeffrey accordingly once I figure out schedule & finances on my end.

Posted by jacob at March 2, 2009 03:01 PM

Jacob;

Thanks. I feel what's best for Ulan also remains what's best for every SK and SSSD dog-- That he/they reside with their rightful owners. So again, you can let me or Jeffrey know when Ulan's to be returned to SK, at your earliest convenience, and we'll be sure to have your Certifications prepared for you then as well.

Best regards,
Sus

Susan - he is your dog afterall as I've said before and is well documented. So you can of course choose to do whatever you feel is ultimately best for him.

Posted by jacob at March 2, 2009 01:34 PM

Jacob;

Well, apparently there was a need to shout at you, in order to get your attention finally? So let's begin by scheduling your next visit to SK, where we can exchange Ulan for your pending Certifications, eh? For what better place to rise from our ashes than from SK/IsiBindi 'ground' up?

Sus

Posted by Sus at March 2, 2009 01:03 PM

Susan,
yes please share - & no need to SHOUT at me. FWIW I've made no secret that I remain in contact with Isa & Jack regarding 'dark matters' such as what the best liner materials are for a whelping box, or the best alternate position for a wheel dog that keeps pulling to the left, or best practices on feeding etc; as well as with other 'ex'-members. so whatever was fw'ed to you, let's discuss indeed.

Posted by jacob at March 2, 2009 12:28 PM

As Jeffrey reminds, the 'Blue Ribbon' for Freedom of Speech isn't on this site for nothin'-- So I add the following post of my own to the 'mornin' mix' here too then, direct from Kolyma's Kitchen--

Jacob;

I didn't like what all I found forwarded to me in my inbox this morn.

So FYI; I've just advised the WCAC board the next 'SSSD' to even LEAVE
SK yard leaves over my dead body. For me and Kolyma don't pull
punches either. Maybe folks didn't 'know' me well enough to figure
this out about me soonest too. Everybody's too focused on doing
'damage control' on Jeffrey's blog. Dunno. Doesn't matter. But
these are my dogs too since the day Isa weirdly crowned me 'Mrs.
Seppala', eh? And they leave now over my dead body, from this day
forward.

So you're wasting your time talking about what anybody else can 'let
happen' now. I know what I will and won't 'let happen', and all the
rest is tawk.

THAT SAID; IF YOU or others want to CONTINUE to talk HERE about just
what it IS I found in my inbox, fine. Kolyma's easy. We can go
either way on that. Otherwise, I'm not seeking to do further harm myself.

Regards,
Sus
P.S. Those of you who continue to wish to work with the REAL breed
steward (i.e. Jeffrey vs. Isa, I mean), PLEASE REMAIN IN DIRECT
CONTACT WITH JEFFREY ON YOUR OWN KENNELS BEHALF. Because I WILL
CONTINUE to discuss WITH JEFFREY ALONE future allowances/relaxation of
my own GOOD sense of PROTECTIONISM today. FOR I KNOW WHAT LOYALTY IS,
AND I KNOW THAT THE WCAC BOARD TODAY DOES NOT REMAIN LOYAL EITHER FROM
WITHIN OR WITHOUT. Case closed. THE END.

Thank you for your work about, for, and with those wonderful dogs.

I had no idea things had come to this, & I know it's heartbreaking. I wish I had the acerage--I would not dream of breeding without your full consent & approval. Is there anything you can think of that I can do from this end?

'til I'd read all this, I hadn't heard of "weblice" (but then, I'm not on blogs enough), and I didn't even know a person could use fake e-mail addresses. (guess I thought "something" checked them).

I guess that's 'straight out' enough.
You don't have to like me (Jeff), just show respect.
Hmm......maybe that's been a problem on the forums. Maybe we've felt 'too' comfortable on them.......or maybe it's 'cause we forget it's a whole 'living room' and we say stuff we should have invited the guy to go 'outside' to say.

I guess the question is: are the dogs worth 'it'? (whatever 'it' is; to each one it will be different).

I bear in mind that, if WCAC fails, it's highly unlikely the dogs will survive in sufficient numbers, long enough, documented enough, for people, farther on, to try again with another 'registry'.

Personnaly, I don't care about anonymous comments.If those people do not have the courage to identified themselves, they do not deserve any attention here.Most of the time, they just don't have any facts in hand, and most of the time, they are just well known LOSERS that don't want to be recognized for not being humiliated in public.
