The Seppala Siberian Sleddog breed is blessed with many natural lead dogs of high ability, who perform their task for us far beyond our expectations. In my humble opinion, they don't need to have their names printed in red on pedigrees, nor do they need a silly string of letters after their names, nor showdog-style titles. Those things would only cheapen their achievement.
In this section of the SSSD website, the Seppala Siberian Sleddog Project celebrates our lead dogs, past and present. These are by no means all the Seppalas that have done their stint at the far end of the gangline; depicted here are mostly just our regular leaders. But to every single dog that has ever kept our ganglines taut and our teams headed in the proper direction, with these web pages we say a humble and heartfelt, "Thank you."

(This section may be expanded gradually, if we can find time, as we scan old photos and search out training log excerpts for our many lead dogs of the past fifteen years. At first some of the individual leader pages may be stubs with a brief text and maybe one photo only. Please bear with us, and check these pages occasionally for new photos and other material!)
